When Ra sinks below the horizon and turns the Nile into a ribbon of liquid fire, two Roman legionaries halt before a landscape that belongs to no mortal. The pyramid, colossal and eternal, rises as a witness to immortal Pharaohs: Tutankhamun, the child crowned by death; Ramesses II, whose name still echoes like thunder in the temples; Hatshepsut, the sovereign who defied time; and the enigmatic figure of Nefertiti, whose face seems sculpted by the gods themselves.
The legionary at the front, hardened by campaigns that have carried Rome beyond the edges of the world, grips his gladius as if it were a pact with destiny. Beside him, the soldier at rest —helmet in hand, breathing the sacred air of the desert— senses something no general can explain: the murmur of Amun, the silent justice of Osiris, the scorching gaze of Ra, watching the newcomers with the patience of those who have witnessed entire empires rise and fall.
