MANIFIESTO DE LA LEGIO XXI VETUSTA VICTRIX

Vetusta Victrix es una Legión Virtual: la Legión del siglo XXI. No pretendemos sustituir la labor de historiadores ni ofrecer una verdad académica cerrada. Nuestra misión no es enseñar, corregir ni reescribir la Historia de Roma.

Nuestro camino es otro.

Buscamos revivir, desde la creación contemporánea, la vida, la disciplina y la humanidad de algunos de los personajes que formaron parte de un Imperio cuyo legado —creemos— sigue presente hoy. No reconstruimos el pasado: lo invocamos.

Las representaciones visuales de nuestros personajes pueden incluir atuendos, armas o accesorios que no correspondan de forma estricta a un momento histórico concreto. No perseguimos la exactitud arqueológica en cada detalle, sino evocar la esencia, la atmósfera y el espíritu de quienes caminaron bajo las águilas de Roma.

Vetusta Victrix no representa una unidad histórica documentada ni reproduce de forma literal la evolución material del ejército romano. Vetusta Victrix LEG XXI es una creación contemporánea que honra la Historia sin pretender sustituirla.

Cada proyecto, cada pieza y cada figura es un tributo. Un pequeño grano de arena para que la memoria de Roma permanezca viva en el siglo XXI. Si logramos que su historia siga latiendo, la Legio XXI habrá cumplido su deber.

Vetusta Victrix is a Virtual Legion — the Legion of the 21st century. We do not seek to replace the work of historians or offer a closed academic truth. Our mission is not to teach, correct, or rewrite the History of Rome. Our path is different. We strive to revive, through contemporary creation, the life, discipline, and humanity of some of the men who were part of an Empire whose legacy — we believe — still endures today. We do not reconstruct the past: we invoke it. The visual representations of our characters may include garments, weapons, or accessories that do not strictly correspond to a specific historical moment. We do not pursue archaeological accuracy in every detail, but rather evoke the essence, atmosphere, and spirit of those who walked beneath the eagles of Rome. Vetusta Victrix does not represent a documented historical unit nor reproduce literally the material evolution of the Roman army. Vetusta Victrix LEG XXI is a contemporary creation that honors History without claiming to replace it. Each project, each piece, and each figure is a tribute — a small grain of sand so that the memory of Rome remains alive in the 21st century. If we succeed in keeping its story beating, the Legio XXI will have fulfilled its duty.

第二十一军团 Vetusta Victrix 宣言

Vetusta Victrix 是一个虚拟军团——二十一世纪的军团。我们并不试图取代历史学家的工作，也不提供封闭的学术真理。我们的使命不是教授、纠正或重写罗马的历史。

我们的道路不同。

我们致力于通过当代创作，重新唤醒那些曾属于帝国的人的生命、纪律与人性。我们不重建过去，而是召唤它。

我们的人物形象可能包含并不完全符合某一历史时期的服饰、武器或配件。我们追求的不是考古学上的精确，而是唤起那些曾在罗马鹰旗下行走者的精神与氛围。

Vetusta Victrix 并不代表一个有文献记载的历史单位，也不完全再现罗马军队的物质演变。Vetusta Victrix 第二十一军团是一项当代创作，旨在致敬历史，而非取代历史。

每一个项目、每一件作品、每一个形象，都是一种献礼——让罗马的记忆在二十一世纪继续鲜活。如果我们能让它的故事继续跳动，第二十一军团就已完成使命。

你将认识你的八人小队（Contubernium）成员：他们可能来自伦敦、布宜诺斯艾利斯、北京、柏林、开普敦……随后你会认识你的 Centurio、Manípulo、Cohorte，最终是你的军团。
