FA 18 Hornet — En Vuelo
El FA 18 rompe el cielo como si fuera su territorio natural. No asciende: se eleva con autoridad, con la violencia contenida de dos turbinas que conocen el lenguaje del combate. La postcombustión ilumina el fuselaje en tonos de fuego y acero, convirtiendo al Hornet en una flecha ardiente que atraviesa las nubes.
Debajo, la cubierta vibra con vida militar. Dos operadores de tierra —figuras pequeñas frente al gigante que despega— ejecutan su ritual técnico con precisión absoluta. Uno levanta una bengala, marcando el instante exacto en el que la máquina abandona el mundo humano para entrar en el dominio del aire. El otro observa, firme, testigo del ascenso de un cazabombardero que no solo despega: se consagra.
En el horizonte, otros Hornets acompañan la escena, formando una estela de velocidad y disciplina. El portaaviones, silencioso y colosal, queda atrás como un templo flotante desde el que se lanzan los hijos del cielo.
La atmósfera es fuego, humo, luz y misión. El FA 18 no aparece como aeronave: aparece como símbolo, como criatura nacida para dominar el aire, como emblema vivo del Air Corps 21.
